Evaluation Question Three : What have you learned from the audience feedback
(click on picture to see it larger)
Question One : From the feedback we received all but one person felt that we conformed to conventions of our chosen genre . None of them elaborated on how we did this but most agreed that we did. I'm happy to learn this as we did want it to fit in with conventions of a R'N'B/Hip Hop video but at the same time we did want to challenge it abit we was hoping to do this with the Indian theme. If I could re-do the video again I would keep the methods in which I tried to make our video conform to its genre
Question Two : Everyone agreed that style and fashion came across as being an important element when we constructed our video. Through general observations of music videos , fashion and style isn't just important in our chosen video's genre but in most where female artists are concerned . So we were very happy to learn that the viewers noticed that the Fashion and style seemed important in our video because having those two elements is essential in any genre especially with female musicians . Although the feedback from everyone liked the clothes we wore , if I could change anything I would make the backup dancers skirts match in terms of colour I was happy to learn people didn't notice that .
Question Three : This question was like the first one but this time it highlighted to the viewers if their was anything specific in our video that challenged our conventions. For this question most people did feel we challenged conventions in some ways. E.g. they pointed out they found the belly dancing , Shisha and the overall Indian theme was unique for an R'N'B/Hip Hop video. However one person did disagree and say that it completely conformed due to the use of the rapper . I learnt that most people did feel in certain things we did challenge our genres typcial video. Additionally I learnt from this question that one participant felt that the whole Indian theme looked abit fake , although it wasn't answering the question I still took on the comment because it was general feeback of the video. If I had to re-do the video I would have kept the Shisha and belly dancing but may have brainstormed something else to challenge my genre .
Question Four : We actually forgot to ask one person this question but from all the other respondents we learnt that they liked it and thought it worked well . People didn't really elaborate on this question so the previous point was all I really learned. So if I was re-doing the video again I would have kept the strong Asian influences and the strong Hip Hop and R'N'B ones also.
Question Five : The overall response to our props and locations was a good one . We learnt that our aim for our video to appear as if we had a variety of props and locations had been successful. From learning this I would keep all the props and locations the same as I myself was happy with it and so were all the respondents.
Question Six : Out of all the questions I feel I learnt the most from this one . From the Facebook comments and video the majority of people liked the rapper and felt that we needed it . However others disagreed and thought that we could have been more innovative and used something else to replace the rapper. Also someone noted that they noticed it was a girl , so I learnt the use of a girl for a rapper may not have been as discrete as we initially thought it'd be. Despite learning this I still would have included the rapper and used the same person because I think it worked and so did the majority of viewers that watched it .

Evaluation Question Two : How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts ?
1. From the three media products we've produced could you tell it was all promoting the same album ?
2. What themes are prominent throughout all three of the media products ?
3. If you identified any themes that effectively combined our media products together what were they ?
4. What could we have improved to make our products more cohesive ?
5. Which theme that you identified in our media products the most allowed you to know we were promoting the same album ?

Editing our Video
This will just give a brief overview of the editing process we went through in order to get our ideal video
A lot of the scenes were filmed at my house which naturally has dark lighting and we were not able to take out the portable schools lights . With the help of final cut we were able to lighten the footage making the scenes more visible

This is one of the many shots where I had to crop out certain things that got in the shot that weren’t supposed to get in. For example the studio light was showing so I had to edit this out from the clip I would use in our video. Also in the scene with the belly dancer family portraits where showing behind her which you could imagine didn’t really fit in with the scene.

At first I used effects where in one shot the screen would split into the next shot . However later on I realised these types of effects aren't used very often in music videos so I choose to use a simply cross division effect instead

Meet the Cast & Crew
Yinka Adegoke (Me) Lead Role : Aishah and I decided we would let me play the role of the lead singer in our video. Firstly because I enjoyed the idea of starring in a video , secondly to ensure reliability and thirdly because we felt I would make a good job of it. Without going on my opinion alone I asked Aishah and other members of the class if they believed I was confident enough to fulfill the role efficiently they all agreed with me that I would be . Also we felt I'd be good for casting because its mine alongside Aishah's project it will mean a lot to me so I would give it my best shot and be reliable in keeping up to date with the filming schedule .

Facebook event page
This is a Facebook page that we created specifically for the party/club scene as we knew it would require quiet a few people in these shots. At the start of this event they were 8 people who claimed to be attending and five who had said maybe. As we had estimated we only need about 16 people , so to see this many people in the first day saying they would attend was progress.
Later that day we had realised that the date we set to film was wrong so we quickly had to change it hoping no one had noticed which I don’t believe they had
This was emailed to us asking about the video because there was a problem again with the dates
The amount of people attending from Facebook is now 19 including ourselves and 12 that may be able to tend this shows that social networks like Facebook can be helpful in events like these as this is even more than the amount we originally needed.
